The Night They Drove George Dubya Down
(Sung to the tune of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" by Joan Baez)
Guest song parody by José Fernandez, JAF1021@aol.com

Dubya Bush is his name - he's lived off his father's name
'Til Al Gore's campaign came, and cleaned out his clock again
In the debate thinking game, he looked dumb, got out barely alive
By next day, his poll ratings fell, it's a time we remember, oh so well

The night they drove George Dubya down
And all his polls were sinking
The night they drove George Dubya down
And all the voters were saying - they said:
Nah-nah to Dubya
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah....

His campaign staff in Austin said, knowing his dire need:
"Dubya, please think quick!  Al Gore's increasing his lead!"
But Bush has no mind; his head's made out of wood
All that money seemed to do him no good
They just let him go on making mindless jests
But they should never have given him the debate test

The night they drove George Dubya down
And all his polls were sinking
The night they drove George Dubya down
And all the voters were saying - they said:
Nah-nah to Dubya
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah....

Like his father before him, Bush campaigned Republican
And like his father before him, it looks like they'll kick his can
Pop was robbed of a second term, when Bill Clinton made him rant and rave
Shrub swears by the mud he likes to fling,
You can't raise a Bush back up when he is in defeat

The night they drove George Dubya down
And all his polls were sinking
The night they drove George Dubya down
And all the voters were saying - they said:
Nah-nah to Dubya
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah....
