The Bumbler
(Sung to the tune of  "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers)
Guest song parody by Michael Pacholek

(instrumental intro)

On a warm summer's evening, with our land bound for nowhere.
On TV was The Bumbler, and his speech put me to sleep.
And I lay down to dreamin', was enveloped by the darkness.
Then the pizza overtook me, and I heard him speak.

He said, "Mike, I've made a life out of reading people's faces;
Of knowing what they're drinking, by the blood that's in their eyes.
And if you don't mind me saying, my war's gonna find new places.
That's what I hear from Cheney, from Rumsfeld and from Rice."

Well, I handed him my ballot, and it made him gulp and swallow.
He's a bum, with cigarettes' and guns' lobbies he's tight.
And the night got deathly quiet, and his face looked mighty hollow.
I said, "Georgie, you have lost the game, because you're too far-right."

You gotta know Democratic... guys give you static.
Trade Center's blown away, you should not have run.
You went and blew our money; as a leader, you're not able.
And it won't be Jeb that's counting; soon your term is done.

Yes, The Bumbler knows that... the secret to surviving...
Is knowing Daddy's friends will stay; your payroll spot they'll keep.
'Cause you think you're a "winner"; the world knows you're a loser.
And a Democrat will beat you... with his liberal Veep.

And when I'd finished speakin', he turned back towards the window;
Crushed was his mood, you bet, and faded from my sleep.
And somewhere in the darkness, our country, it broke even.
And in 2005 we'll have an ace that we can keep.

You gotta know Democratic... guys give you static.
Trade Center's blown away, you should not have run.
You went and blew our money; as a leader, you're not able.
And it won't be Jeb that's counting; soon your term is done.

You gotta know Democratic... guys give you static.
Trade Center's blown away, you should not have run.
You went and blew our money; as a leader, you're not able.
And it won't be Jeb that's counting; soon your term is done.
